Filing a property exchange with IMPIC
An exchange is filed like any other transfer, with one difference that changes how it is completed: two properties change hands in the same transaction, and each carries its own value.
How it differs from a sale
A sale has one property and one price. An exchange has two properties, each with the value assigned to it, and often a balancing cash payment (tornas) that settles the difference. That payment is declared among the means of payment like any other, with its source and destination accounts.
Each party is at once acquiring one property and disposing of the other, so the same people appear on both sides of the deal. That is correct, not a duplication error.
Deadline and current status
The deadline is the same quarterly one, counted from the date of the title. Exchange support in ComunicaPro is still in preparation: the XML schema already allows several properties per transaction, and we will calibrate against real exchanges before enabling it. Sales are fully supported.
